The Government forced them out burning everything in the village, having nowhere to live, Emmanuel and his family of eight children and one wife were forced to live in the cave. situation worsen when children started becoming sick, one after the other, and they had no option but to relocate and try seeking help. They later found an old house, that was old; where the owner left long time ago and they tried to renovate it by covering the roof with a plastic polythene. There they lived for some days and during the nights of the rainy seasons, it could rain inside and Emmanuel could cover the children and fetch water that's pouring inside using a basin.

a house that Emmanuel lived with the family

Of course he had sons and they could not sleep together in the same house, since it was small and could not accommodate them. Therefore the two sons could go and look for where to sleep in the neighborhood, and since not everybody has a heart of understanding and caring for the fellow humanity they were sometimes abandoned and could find themselves locked out. and often times those boys sleep under the tree on a plain field. This continued for so long until one day Emmanuel encountered his blessings when He meet with the founder of Shem Foundation, Bishop John N. Bright, where he promised to build for him the house.

The construction of the house started immediately after a piece of land was provided. The house was completed in three weeks time and the family lived there happily.
